Responsibilities

Put simply, the Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating, editing, and publishing content, building digital marketing campaigns, and contributing to the overall marketing strategy of Vervology and our clients.

The Content Marketing Specialist is an important member of the team, working closely with the clients and the team to raise brand awareness and engagement.

Key Job Functions

  • Working with the Vervology team to brainstorm topics and marketing themes, as well as identifying potential channels for opportunities.
  • Build content strategies, customer journeys, marketing campaigns and collateral, including automated email campaigns and landing pages.
  • Developing content and imagery that is specific to individual channels and brand voice.
  • Be comfortable writing and editing in AP Style and have a solid grasp of English grammar.
  • Updating and editing website (WordPress) content and formatting for SEO.
  • Promoting content on the appropriate channels using best practices in industry standards.
  • Tracking analytics for Vervology’s online platforms, as well as our client’s, and using this data to adjust marketing tactics and build campaigns.
  • Continuous monitoring and development of Vervology’s LinkedIn and other social media channels.
  • Responding to customer comments and questions on each channel.
  • Assisting the team with other tasks as necessary.

We are seeking people who are creative and driven, but also empathetic to clients and teammates. You must be proactive, ready to take the lead on projects and campaigns and able to pivot strategies at a moment’s notice.

Interested candidates should enjoy working collaboratively with an integrated team. As a marketing organization, applicants need to be comfortable with online branding strategies, crafting content for digital spaces, staying current with market trends, as well as data measurement and analysis for social media.

Content Development/Writing Skills: A strong understanding of sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation is required.

Marketing Strategy and Campaigns: Must be able to develop and present marketing strategies and then build campaigns.

Keyword Research: Must have a basic understanding of how to do keyword research and why it matters.

SEO: Must have a firm understanding of how SEO works, a good portion of this role involves creating copy to improve brand awareness and engagement.

Analytics: Must be able to interpret analytics data, to craft better and focused content to help improve response.

Consumer Behavior & Basic Human Psychology: Words can be powerful and having an understanding of consumer behavior and basic human psychology will make it easier to find the winning recipe for content creation that strikes a chord and engages with the buyer persona.

  • CRM, Contact Management and Automation: MailChimp, ActiveCampaign.
  • Social Media Publishing: Buffer, Canva, Sprout Social.
  • SEO: SemRush, Screaming Frog, RankMath, BrightLocal.
  • Keyword Research/Planning: Sparkturo, SpyFu.
  • Project Management: Clickup, Harvest, Trello.
  • Collaboration: Slack, Zoom, Mirro.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communication, or a related field (preferred).
  • Demonstratable experience working with a team when building social media/marketing initiatives.
  • An interest in small businesses, their operations, and their cultural and societal mindset.
  • Creativity in the online space.
  • Unparalleled problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with best practices concerning SEO, content marketing, brand marketing/strategy and social media.
  • MailChimp certification – a major plus but not required.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid (both in office and remote) or remote work environment (you must demonstrate experience in working remote). Working remotely is extremely hard if not self-motivated and disciplined!
  • Extreme attention to detail in content creation and editing.
  • Perfect English grammar.
  • Ability to adapt and learn very fast, we are a young dynamic team in a growing business.
